Original Hand Painted Colorful Copper and Green Abstract Impressionist Acrylic Large 36x36 inch Painting on Canvas Plaid Swirl
$1,200.00
sold out
Patina Swirl
Patina is defined as:
1a : a usually green film formed naturally on copper and bronze by long exposure or artificially (as by acids) and often valued aesthetically for its color
b : a surface appearance of something grown beautiful especially with age or use
I do believe that both apply to this series of pieces. The copper and bronze can be seen in their natural gleaming form. Then are transformed through the expression of oxidation. Tarnished and rusty. This is nature, destroying something, in the most beautiful way.
Each painting consists of multiple layers, to create a truly original piece of art. I start by sketches, then gesso. I then begin layering down my acrylic metallic paints, and just a splash of color. Next come the metal leafing, which I think adds a unique aspect of depth. Followed by shading and textured. Finished with a little bit of grunging, and a coat of varnish.
Please contact me with any questions, or requests. I would love to help you.
